‘Women Entrepreneurship Workshop-2018’ was organised on the 8th March, 2018 in Asian School of Business Management (ASBM), on the auspicious occasion of International Women’s day. This workshop was inaugurated, by the Chief Guest Ms. Monica Nayyar Patnaik, Managing Director, Eastern Media Limited, by lighting the ‘Lamp of Wisdom’. She was much impressed by the motivational power of budding talents and also appreciated the innovative ideas projected by the young management graduates. In her address to the audience she said that, ‘It is of utmost importance for a woman entrepreneur to strike a balance between her personal and professional life.’ She also emphasised upon the importance of Knowledge, Endeavour and Devotion, in order to become a successful entrepreneur.
On this occasion, the Guest of Honour Dr. (Mrs.) Linu Chayani, Founder Director, LISA’S IAS said that, ‘Every decision needs a cost to be paid. Startup companies need much more attention of the entrepreneur.’ The other Guest of Honour Mrs. Susmita Das, Founder, Mitu’s Music & Mitu’s Health Club said that, ‘Now-a-days women are empowered and free enough to cherish their own dreams as entrepreneurs.’
In his presidential address, Prof. (Dr.) Biswajeet Pattanayak, Founder and Group Director, ASBM explained that, ‘the very concept of this Workshop is to encourage the young women minds to become self-reliant and join the mainstream of the Society. Further, he invigorated the participants to inculcate out of the box thinking and innovation, to match today’s business scenario. Entrepreneurs are different from others; in the sense that, apart from the profit consideration they always drive their passion. Against all odds which come their way, they don’t get distracted from their path, he added.
More than 200 women students from various management colleges actively and enthusiastically participated in this workshop. The workshop was also graced by Mr. Nirakar Mishra, General Manager, District Industries Centre, Govt. of Odisha and Ms. Debashree Padhi, CEO, DD Bio-solution Technology. This Programme was coordinated by EDC Coordinator, Prof. (Dr.) Prakash Chandra Dash and Vote of Thanks was given by EDC Co-Cordinator Prof. Swasti Suvasweta Satapathy. Further, Mementos were presented to all the distinguished guests by the Group Director ASBM, to acknowledge their kind presence.
