9th August 2016 – The academic Programme for the new batch of PGDM and BBA are inaugurated today by Shri Jyoti Ghosh, Managing Director, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur in the Central Auditorium of ASBM Campus.
Addressing the new batch, Shri Ghosh emphasized that the leadership qualities in the public and private organizations are common in many ways. The most important qualities of a leader to lead the people are trust, integrity and hard work. It is essential to challenge self and take risks to influence the followers in the corporate world.
Prof. (Dr.) Biswajeet Pattanayak, Director ASBM, in his welcome address, advised the students to develop specific competencies like self discipline, empathy and persuasion. These three qualities will help them to be star performers. He stated that this generation should try to cure the diseases of the civilization – civilization should be judged not by how they treat people closest to power but rather how they treat those farthest from power, whether in race, religion, gender, wealth or class.
Shri Ravi D. Verma, Managing Director, Black Knight India Solutions Ltd, Guest of Eminence of the occasion advised the students to strive hard and work with a high level of integrity. He also urged the students to face challenges in life as challenges ensure growth.
Shri M. Ramakrishna, Managing Director, GrowthMode Consulting Ltd., another Guest of Eminence, elaborated on his experiences on how ASBM has been contributing in making industry ready leaders.
ASBM Journal of Management (Vol. IX, Issue 2, July-December 2016) was released by the Chief Guest Shri Jyoti Ghosh.
Prof. Kalyan Shankar Ray, Dean ASBM, administered the Oath to the new students to imbibe the ASBM culture of discipline and to make the environment humane.
The guests were introduced by Prof. Manmath Nath Samantaray, Chairman, PG Council and Prof. Mrutyunjay Dash, Principal, ASBM IPS proposed the vote of thanks. The event was anchored by Ms. Abhilasa Pratihary, a student of the senor batch of PGDM.
The senior students organized ‘Akanksha’, the welcome ceremony for freshers. The gala event was attended by all the new and old students, all teaching and non-teaching staff members. A number of icebreaking activities and management games were conducted for the new batch of students. The activities were aimed at acclimatizing the students into the new environment and getting them to know about the institute, its faculty members and department heads. The new students are undergoing a two-week induction Programme focusing on academic orientation and also work life balancing. Many corporate leaders are addressing them in the induction Programme. A focused session on stress management was conducted by Sister Leena of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vidyalaya.
