The tenth Convocation of Asian School of Business Management took place in its campus on 1st April, 2017. The graduating ceremony of 2015-17 PGDM batch saw students being awarded the coveted diploma. Founder and Chairman of Datamatics Group of Companies, Dr. Lalit S. Kanodia graced the special occasion as Chief Guest. In his convocation address he stated that education, and in particular business education, holds the key to India once again becoming a developed economy. He lamented that businessmen do not get due recognition in our country for wealth creation. As an example, he said that Bharat Ratna has been awarded to 45 eminent persons till now, and out of them only one, i.e. J. R. D. Tata is a businessmen.
Founder and Director of ASBM, Prof. (Dr.) Biswajeet Pattanayak presented the annual report of the institute. Giving the example of Col. Sanders, the founder of KFC, he said that nothing comes ahead of time, and anything that has to happen will happen in its own time. He advised the students that there is no need to benchmark one by comparing with others’ success or failure. It is better to define one’s own goal and move forward accordingly in the life’s journey.
Chairman of ASBM Board of Governors, Shri Ravindra Chamaria presided over the ceremony and emphasized on two words ‘MORE’ and ‘GIVE’ He said that the students should start giving the day they can afford and the more they give, the more satisfaction and success they will get in life.
Mr. Siddharth Shankar Mishra, student of PGDM 2015-17 batch was awarded the Infinity Gold Medal as the best student in academics, while Ms. Neelam Nanda, student of PGDM 2015-17 batch, was awarded the Director’s Gold Medal (sponsored by State Bank of India) as the best all-rounder student.
The Chairman of P G Council Prof. Manmath Nath Samantaray coordinated the Programme. It was anchored by students Ankita Parida and Sumana Bose.
