Dr. Jibendu Kumar Mantri

Prof. Jibendu Kumar Mantri’s last assignment before joining ASBM was as Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Application at Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bahanja Deo (MSCB) University, Baripada. He has 36 years of rich experience in academics and academic administration of which he has spent more than two decades at MSCB University. He also worked there as the Controller of Examinations, the Member of Boards of Studies, and the Member of Subject Research Committee. He was also the Chairman of the Board of Studies of the Secondary Board of Education, Odisha for Computer Science.
Dr. Mantri has been awarded Ph.D. in Computer Application by Sambalpur University. Earlier, he had earned M.Sc. in Mathematics and M.Tech. in Computer Science from Utkal University, and M.Phil. in Mathematics from Berhampur University. He has successfully completed a number of Faculty Development Programmes on subjects like Information Security, Computational Technology, Artificial Intelligence, IoT etc. conducted by institutions of repute like NIT Allahabad, Central University of Jharkhand, ISTE, Computer Society of India etc.
An avid researcher, Prof. Mantri has published 42 research papers in national and international journals of repute. He also has to his credit five (5) books and 31 book chapters. He has presented papers in 22 conferences at national and international level and has participated in many more. He works as a reviewer for seven national and international journals including some published by Springer and Elsevier. He has undertaken two research projects – ‘Heuristic Algorithm for Data Analysisi in Body Computing’ funded by UGC and ‘Quality of Child Health and Education Analysis in Anganwadis of Mayurbhnaj District using Artificial Intelligence’ funded by MSCB University. He has also delivered talks in a large number of seminars and conferences.
Eleven research scholars have been awarded Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Technology, and Mathematics under his supervision. He has supervised 66 students for M.Phil., M.Tech., and MCA degrees. He has also worked as examiner for Ph.D. at Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) and Anna University.
Areas of interest – Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Information Security, Soft Computing, Data Envelopment Analysis, Computational Numerical Analysis, and Discrete Mathematics and Structure.
