ASBM University Hosts IGNITE 2024: A Grand Celebration of Youth and Culture
Bhubaneswar, Dec 15, 2024 – ASBM University became a hub of excitement, creativity, and youthful energy as it hosted IGNITE 2024, a National Youth Festival, on December 13 and 14. With over 500 participants from Odisha and across India, the two-day cultural extravaganza established itself as one of Eastern India’s largest student cultural festivals, showcasing an array of vibrant events, entrepreneurial spirit, and creative talent.
Day 1: Creative Energy and Cultural Harmony
The festival began with an explosion of energy as students participated in a variety of events that set the tone for the day. Vocalists showcased their melodic prowess during the Voice of Ignite competition, enchanting the audience with soulful renditions. Meanwhile, gaming enthusiasts engaged in fierce battles in tournaments for popular games like BGMI and Free Fire, bringing a palpable intensity to the campus atmosphere.
Creativity took center stage with competitions like Ad Mad, where participants impressed with witty advertisements brimming with humor and innovation. The artistic flair of students was on full display in the Modern Art event, where unique masterpieces reflected diverse contemporary themes. The tempo heightened further with high-energy performances in Beat Boxing, leaving the crowd amazed by rhythmic mastery, and the War of Bands, which lit up the evening with electrifying musical performances that reverberated across the campus.
The day’s activities culminated with the much-anticipated Inaugural Session, where Prof. (Dr.) Biswajeet Pattanayak, Founder and President of ASBM University, addressed the audience. Dr. Pattanayak emphasized the transformative role of cultural festivals in fostering creativity, leadership, and teamwork among students. His inspiring words were followed by a mesmerizing melody night and an electrifying performance by DJ Chikun, who ensured the day ended on a high note filled with music, rhythm, and celebration.
Day 2: Talent Unleashed and a Grand Finale
Day 2 carried forward the vibrant spirit of the festival, with a series of events that tested wit, creativity, and passion. The Rap Battle saw participants engage in sharp, lyrical showdowns that captivated the audience with their wit and intensity. Dance enthusiasts took the stage in Let’s Nacho, presenting dynamic and synchronized performances that left spectators in awe.
Intellectual pursuits were highlighted in Quizzerra, where students showcased their knowledge in a thrilling contest of trivia. Meanwhile, the adventurous spirit of the participants shone during the Treasure Hunt, as teams raced across the campus in search of hidden treasures, blending excitement with strategy. The entrepreneurial spirit of students shone through at the Funfair, where stalls showcased creative products and innovative ideas, demonstrating budding business acumen. The day also featured the dazzling Fashion Fusion, where participants combined glamour and creativity to impress the crowd.
The evening ended with the beats of DJ Lyatmika, who ensured a high-energy conclusion to the festival. The Valedictory Ceremony followed, graced by Shri Laxmidhara Pangari, Senior Lawyer at the Odisha High Court, and Prof. (Dr.) Biswajeet Pattanayak, where participants were applauded for their incredible talent and awarded prizes for their achievements.
The Team Behind IGNITE 2024
IGNITE 2024’s seamless execution was spearheaded by Dr. Smaraki Pattanayak, Principal Director, and Dr. Avijit Mondal, whose meticulous planning ensured the festival’s success. The university’s senior leadership, including Prof. (Dr.) Kalyan Shankar Ray, Vice President; Prof. (Dr.) Ranjan Kumar Bal, Vice Chancellor; and Prof. (Dr.) Phalgu Niranjana, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, played pivotal roles in making the event memorable.
